GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (August 26, 2020) – Buchanan Technologies, a leading IT managed services provider, has announced it has completed its Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 certification for its Managed Services System. Conducted by Moss Adams, the certification asserts that Buchanan’s managed services practices and related policies, procedures, and operations meet the SOC 2 standards.
SOC for Service Organizations reports are designed to help service organizations that provide services to other entities build trust and confidence in the service performed and controls related to the services – including how data is managed – through a report by an independent CPA.
Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 defines criteria for managing customer data based on five principles – security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The Type 1 certification specifically describes a vendor’s systems and whether their design is suitable to meet these trust principles.
