The Challenge

A Stalled Cloud Migration Creating A Crisis of Expertise and Timeline

The hotel chain was in the midst of a massive migration, moving its crucial Oracle applications from a legacy on-premise environment to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Connecting the new OCI environment to their existing cloud identity provider, Microsoft Entra (formerly known as Azure AD), was a non-negotiable requirement and a critical integration to bring identity access under a single umbrella and provide secure SSO for several thousand employees.

The client’s own staff began the complex integration, but the situation became critical when they hit a roadblock with an unexpected personnel change that created a critical skill gap around the Oracle to Microsoft Entra migration:

  • Project Halted: They no longer had the in-house skill needed, causing the entire project to come to a halt.
