Go DIRect Program


Buchanan Technologies is an approved GO DIRect vendor. The Go DIRect Program allows customers to purchase items directly from a DIR-contracted vendor. Customers contact the vendor for product and pricing information. They also send their purchase orders, with the DIR contract number, and payments directly to the Go DIRect vendor, not to DIR. This streamlines the order process so customers receive their products/services quickly.

HOW TO PLACE ORDERS
The DIR requires two items to be completed before work can begin.

1. A Statement of Work (SOW)
2. A Purchase Order (PO)


>>> In order to be awarded a Purchase Order hereunder, Vendor must respond, in writing, to a Statement of Work (SOW) for services as issued by Customers, consistent with the Terms and Conditions of this Contract. Vendor shall only respond to SOWs for Technology Categories which Vendor has been awarded in this Contract. Customer SOWs must be complete, signed by an authorized representative of Customer and must be in the form contained in Appendix C. Vendor understands that no work under any SOW issued by Customer shall commence until receipt of Purchase Order.

>>> Service provided under this Contract shall be based on the Statement of Work form set forth in Appendix C of this Contract. Customers may negotiate the terms and conditions of a SOW to suit their business needs, so long as the SOW terms and conditions do not conflict with or weaken the terms of this Contract. Vendor shall perform its work in compliance with this Contract and the agreed upon Statement of Work with Customer.

>>> The value of any one SOW may not exceed $10 million including all extensions, renewals and change orders.

Upon an executed SOW, your Purchasing Department will be required to issue a PO. Upon Buchanan Technologies' receipt of that PO, work may begin.

GO DIRect/DIR DBITS
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) has recently established a deliverables-based IT Services (DBITS) contract with vendors to provide information Technology products or services. Customers can now quickly and easily buy IT services from DIR-contracted vendors. Buchanan Technologies is pleased to announce they are now one of the selected vendors to contract with the State of Texas through the DIR.

You are eligible to buy through DIR if you are a Texas state agency, public institution, of higher education, public school district, or other local government entity. For more information go to the DIR Customer Eligibility page.

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

Application Development includes development of new applications which may be mainframe, server, network-based, web-based or a combination. The requirements for new applications may require interfaces to existing applications. Buchanan Technologies' Application Development Center delivers Internet, intranet and extranet Web sites, and e-commerce applications. We can enhance and improve your business operations using custom or packaged applications designed to meet your specific business needs. We collaborate with you to build predictable, long-term relationships that deliver the greater business value.

Examples include, but not limited to: researching; analyzing; gathering requirements; designing; programming; testing; documenting and implementing; applying changes to the software language and/or database in which the application is written; providing corrections for production or any changes needed and participation in disaster recovery planning and documentation.

APPLICATION MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT

Application Maintenance and Support includes the skills and requirements for supporting applications systems, including troubleshooting, modifying, maintaining and enhancing legacy systems. Application Maintenance and Support also applies to applications running in a production environment.

Examples include, but not limited to: research, analysis, design, programming, testing, documenting and implementing maintenance changes; correcting software errors; modifying reports and ensuring accurate report runs; making modifications to the applications and documentation, writing ad hod queries, loading and applying changes to the software language and/or database in which the application is written; providing corrections for the production or any changes needed and participation in disaster recovery testing, planning and documentation. Services may need to be available 24/7 or on an on-call basis.

TECHNOLOGY UPGRADE/MIGRATION AND TRANSFORMATION

Technology Upgrade/Migration may be required to increase business functionality, reengineer a business function, keep current with vendor upgrades or when upgrading existing technology. Technology Transformation may be accomplished by converting/migrating legacy applications to new technology either with or without new business functionality or it may include introducing new technology into the enterprise. Technology Upgrade/Migration may also include providing Web site content accessibility compliance.

Examples include, but not limited to: assessments of the current application portfolio, evaluation of the technology assets before beginning technology transformation and Business Case development for justification of an initiative. Also included are: technology transformations which may include appropriate return on investment (ROI), benchmarks and milestones. The following activities may also be included: planning, analysis, requirements development, proof of concept, deployment, implementation, integration, remediation, data migration, documentation, application programming and support services; and training support.

TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT

Technology Assessment services include performance of any or all of the project management processes. As such, they are trained and qualified using a variety of industry-standard tools and techniques. Our Technology Assessment service includes Scope Management, Schedule management, Financial Management, Quality Management, Communication Management, Project Change Management, and Risk Management. Additionally, we create Test Acceptance Plans that clearly define project success criteria in order to ensure the solution meets business requirements. The International 24x7 Support Center (ISC) at Buchanan Technologies can perform an in-depth Help Desk Assessment based on ITIL best practices to evaluate their current support mechanism, develop a gap analysis, and build a continual service improvement plan with an eye towards maturing your support organization. Our assessment process can be used to aid in evaluating existing operations in developing consolidation or outsourcing strategies.
