Buchanan Associates Expands Business Services to Europe

Buchanan Associates, a 19 year, end-to-end technology solutions firm based in Las Colinas, Texas, has announced its expansion into the European services market. Company founder and CEO Jim Buchanan said that "At the beginning of the year we started looking at our strategic direction for the organization and started seriously studying overseas operations".
In September, Buchanan convinced his Sr. Vice Presidents to accompany him on a trip to Sofia, Bulgaria. As an emerging Eastern bloc country, Bulgaria has experienced democracy over the last 15 years and capitalism over the last decade. Over the last 5 years, various energy and telecom companies have privatized within the borders. With the second highest ACT scores worldwide and the ability to speak several different languages, the universities are turning out young, multi-lingual, intelligent workers.
"We initially thought of going over to Bulgaria as a means to provide offshore call center, application development, and application maintenance services" Buchanan states. Once they arrived and had spent a week over there the team realized that Bulgaria was an excellent stepping stone into Western Europe. "We realized that we could provide lower cost options to our customers here in the States as well as offer those services to the European customers that we currently work with" Buchanan says.
Buchanan Associates plans to "build, buy, and partner". Mr. Buchanan outlines the approach stating, "We're building our own core competencies in the areas of application development and call center services. We're actively pursuing strategic acquisitions to help us deliver service throughout Europe. Finally, we'll be partnering with already established organizations to go to market faster while still providing a good level of financial gain and savings to our customers".
As a result of the trip Buchanan Associates has incorporated there and are actively hiring within Sofia.
